Remember when you were a young teenager? You wanted to go to a party at a friend's house while the parents were away, but your parents wouldn't allow you to go without adult supervision? They pretend to be a teenager themselves to obtain the trust and confidence of children. The predator will then attempt to set up a meeting place with the child. Parents need to be extremely cautious of their children's activity on the computer. The internet has also made it easy for anyone (including children) to obtain drugs online. According to Highlights of the Youth Internet Safety Survey conducted by the U.S. Department of Justice "one in five children (10 to 17 years old) receives unwanted sexual solicitations online" (Provided by courtesy of NCMEC).
